Volunteers Opportunities at the Hillingdon Narrowboat Association located in Harefield next to the beautiful canal

 We are an entirely voluntary led organisation and would love you to join us.

We operate several community canal boats for use by local residents and community groups of all ages, at a cost they can afford, from our peaceful location.

​Volunteering is a great way to keep active and meet new people, all against the backdrop of Harefield’s stunning canals and rivers.  With your help we can help wildlife thrive, and people find health, happiness and wellbeing.

This year we will be hosting a number of welcome events in Harefield where you will be able to discover more about volunteering, ask questions and meet other friendly volunteers.

 What kind of Volunteering

Perhaps you can spare some time at your own desk to organise a meeting, trip or visit for our members or other volunteers?  Maybe you have an odd day in the week you’re looking to fill. Or you just feel the need for a new challenge or know somebody who wants to try a new skill. Whatever you’re looking for in your volunteer capacity, we’ll welcome you. You just need to be willing to join a friendly, warm team of people and have a bit of a sense of humour!

 Do you have the skills set?

• Everyone has something to offer.
• We have volunteers from age 14 to 90.
• Jobs range from marketing to finance from painting to electrics and everything in between. Even steering the boats and hosting trips if that is something you wanted to do.

Please give us as little or as much time as you want.  Every hour our volunteers give is appreciated, from the simplest task.
